Take control of your pain and get back to the life you love!

Why the McKenzie Method

Imagine the power to control your pain and the ability to pursue your daily activities. Save time and money with the McKenzie method. Free yourself from excessive therapy, expensive radiology testing and, most importantly, surgery! Certified McKenzie MDT clinicians are highly trained to determine if there is a mechanical reason for your pain. We classify your condition and establish a plan of care, based on the exam findings.

Here's how it works...

MDT is a comprehensive, evidence- based system of examination, diagnosis, intervention, and prevention strategies aimed at patient education and independence. You start seeing significant results in as little as 3-4 visits. It is driven by sound clinical reasoning. This cost efficient approach minimizes the need for expensive tests, injections and surgery.

We listen to your detailed history and with your involvement use repeated movements or static positions during the examination. With the obtained from your examination, we establish a clear direction to develop a plan of care specifically for your body.

We prescribe specific exercises and guide activity and behavior changes outside the clinic, to facilitate the repair and healing process that your body will be going through. You will be assessed every visit, by comparing the course of recovery to your baseline of your symptoms and quality of movement. Accordingly, we determine if your plan of care needs to progress along the determined course or needs to be modified. Your treatment often times will involve manual spine and/or joint mobilizations.

We treat what we find during the examination process, with specific movements, activity modification, and manual mobilization. More importantly we teach you how to self-treat your current impairment. Thus you are empowered with practical knowledge to prevent recurrence and rapidly address your symptoms in the future if they do re-appear. We take into account not only the physical impairments, but also behavioral and environmental factors contributing to your pain. This will help you address your problem more holistically while reaching your functional goals.
