Gauri Sabnis

PT, MS, OCS, cert MDT

Gauri is a licensed physical therapist in the state of New Jersey. She graduated from Texas Women's University, Houston in 2004 with an Advanced Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she attained her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 2001 from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, India. She has consistently worked in out-patient PT settings since 2004, and has a strong background in musculo-skeletal rehabilitation. During her years at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, she gained experience in treating patients with balance and vestibular disorders and developed her knowledge base in this area through several continuing education courses. She has treated a variety of post operative patients, ranging from adolescents with ACL injuries to seniors with joint replacement surgeries, in close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and physiatrists.

In 2013, she attained board certification in Orthopedics through American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Gauri is also certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment method through the McKenzie Institute. She is a LSVT BIG practitioner and, follows this method for treating patients with Parkinson's Disorder and other neurological conditions, that cause slowness of movement and balance problems. She uses a functional evaluation approach, with repeated motion testing and outcome assessment, enabling her to provide customized treatment using therapeutic exercises and manual therapy. She is passionate about patient education, injury prevention, ergonomics, and  body-mechanics,  which are the corner stones of her treatment planning.
